Coalition Spay/Neuter Totals Beat Last Year's Numbers

By the end of December 2011, 768 surgeries had been performed, far surpassing the number of surgeries performed in 2010 (678). Each surgery performed is many lives saved. We credit our hard working volunteers, with extra special thanks to Sarah McEvoy and Shari Rose, and our generous grantors, including Petco, Alley Cat Allies, the Spearfish Community Foundation and the ASPCA. Thank you!

2011 Year-End Update: 2,791 Cats Spayed and Neutered

Since the Coalition began performing low cost and free spay/neuter in 2006, we have helped fix over 2,791 cats. See our full s/n statistics here.

Our deepest thanks to our wonderful participating vets, our generous donors, and our fantastic volunteers. They have made this all possible.

Our Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) Project

Thanks to grants from ASPCA grant and a Alley Cat Allies, along with other donations, the Coalition was able to spay and neuter approximately 364 feral cats.

You can get help from the Coalition for a feral colony in your neighborhood. You can always e-mail us to find out the latest information.

OUR MISSION: To alleviate the animal suffering that results from pet overpopulation by providing affordable spay/neuter services to low-income pet guardians. With help from several generous funding agencies and our wonderful participating vets, qualifying Black Hills residents can fix their cats for $35 for females, $25 for males. We have programs that assist us in lowering the surgery costs even more, particularly for feral cats. E-mail us for more information.

We formed the Coalition because we want to do something about the extraordinarily high intake and euthanasia of pets in shelters throughout the Black Hills. Won't you help? Please consider being a volunteer.
